Future Cities has made a significant and positive contribution the hospitality landscape of Fremantle. The pop-up container venue Don Tapa on Victoria Quay was an innovative and fantastic addition to summer dining in central Fremantle. More recently the Mantle, which incorporates a relocated Don Tapa along with a small bar, other restaurants and share work and cook spaces has taken creative and funky activation of previously neglected space to an impressive new level. This venue has been a huge success from day 1 and is great testament to the vision and stunning delivery of this vision by the Future Cities team

Hawaiian and the team at Future Cities have been working together for several years on the development of The Mantle project. The Mantle is a unique concept for the Hawaiian and for WA as a whole; its an incubation model providing opportunity for mainly hospitality based businesses. The team at Future Cities delivered the project as per the initial vision, ethos and achieved the goals as set out. They balanced, managed and executed the design, approvals, fit-out and marketing to create a space that has been embraced by the public with great significance for a forgotten part of the city and Fremantle as a whole; whilst at the same time achieving a sustainable return on investment and activation of an under-utilised asset for Hawaiian.
